His Transforming Kiss

What need have I of miracle or charm

Who once had placed my head upon her feet

And looked into her eyes that could disarm

The evil hordes and force to vain retreat

The Foe that dogs us, Death who takes away

From seeking souls the labour of the years,

Sustaining breath in this momentous play,

Who challenges through pain and human tears

The soul of man to rise above the beast,

The heart to widen and embrace with love

The consecrated spirit of the East

The energy untiring of the West

That feet Divine may lead us through the hours

And we may build anew this home of bliss.

What untold Grace is ours, what unused powers

Shall wake in us with his transforming kiss.
